The Archaeological Park in Carmignano offers a wide selection of itineraries to meet the cultural and naturalistic interests of its visitors: from the Etruscans to the Medici, from Pontormo to modern art, this territory in the hills of Montalbano had many monuments, landscapes and museums to visit with your class or a group of friends.

Guided Tour of the Archeological Museum
By visiting the Museum you can learn about the research done in this area and admire the artifacts in both of the sections of the museum– the World of the Living and the World of the Dead.
In the section dedicated to the world of the living we will concentrate on how the Artimino territory was populated in the Etruscan Era and visitors can view many of the archeological artifacts that have been found in houses and religious buildings as they discover many interesting facts about everyday Etruscan life.
In the section dedicated to the World of the Dead visitors can admire the extraordinary artifacts from the necropolis and a realistic reconstruction of the Warrior’s Tomb in Prato Rosello, bucchero incense burners, the splendid burial objects from Grumaggio and the surprising finds from the Montefortini Tumulus.

An artificial hill hides two of the most suggestive monumental Etruscan tombs in the area: This is where many of the artifacts now exposed in the museum were originally found.

In the footsteps of the Holy
Three extraordinary Romanic churches sit on an antique road that connected Artimino with the hills of Pietramarina, on the highest point of Montalbano: San Leonardo ad Artimino, San Martino in Campo and San Giusto.
The walk allows visitors to admire these splendid architectural monumentswhile enjoying the wonderful landscape.
