Weaving and Spinning Artifacts
In the settled areas of Artiminio and Pietramarina a number of artifacts used for spinning and weaving have been found which were used by the women of the community: spindles in various forms -which were used as counterweights for the spindle whorls probably made of wood- which have not survived; spools to store the thread obtained, pyramidal and ring shaped weights for looms meant to keep the threads in place on the loom, which was, in all probability, a vertical loom.
